Air Force 75th Anniversary Airshow
On the evening of Saturday, September 17th, Local members from SMFR’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) team was honored to provide emergency standby at Centennial Airport. A special event was held at Wings Over the Rockies Exploration of Flight to celebrate the U.S. Air Force 75th birthday. Red 1, Red 2, Red 3, Medic 44 and Safety 35 were staged along Runway 10/28 during several air demonstrations which were all successful and quite thrilling to watch! Incident Photos

James E. Casey Commercial Structure Fire
Just after 3 a.m. on September 13th, workers at the UPS Consumer Center located at 13101 James E. Casey Ave. called 911 and reported flames in the building. When local members arrived just minutes later, smoke had already filled the 240,000 square foot structure. Cherry Creek State Park Dive Alert 3
Just after 11 p.m. on September 13th, local members were alerted to a Dive Rescue response at Cherry Creek State Park after a witness reported an occupied vehicle in the water. Moments later, SMFR Dispatch received a 911 call from someone inside the partially submerged car, panicked and unable to open the doors or windows. Seramonte Residential Structure Fire
September 2, 2022 - Just after 1 a.m., multiple calls came into SMFR's Dispatch stating that large flames were seen behind a house near S. Santa Fe Drive and W. Highlands Ranch Parkway in Douglas County. The first arriving units confirmed that a deck was heavily involved and that the fire had extended into the home. Best Western Commercial Structure Fire
At 4:14 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, Local members assigned to Engine 31 responded to a fire alarm activation at the Best Western DTC, located at 9231 E. Arapahoe Rd. in Greenwood Village. At 4:18 a.m. a hotel employee called 911 and reported a fire in the basement, prompting a large response of additional personnel and equipment from SMFR. South Himalaya Circle Structure Fire
At 3:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, SMFR received multiple calls reporting a residential structure fire on S Himalaya Circle in Arapahoe County. Callers described seeing active flames on the outside of the house. Local members on first arriving units confirmed that there was a working fire on the side of the home with extension to the second story and attic space. Dorado Ave. Structure Fire
Just before 4 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, multiple callers reported hearing a loud boom and seeing active flames coming from a gas meter on the side of a vacant home on E. Dorado Avenue. Thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain were all moving through the area at the time. 9 year old Hunter (pictured) was one of the neighbors who first saw the fire and alerted his parents to call 911.
