Joliet Street MVA with Dive and Tech Rescue Component
Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Local members and Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported vehicle in the water with a person trapped in the 7400 block of S. Joliet St. in Centennial. Being prepared for the worst, the large emergency response included Dive and Technical Rescue Team personnel. When members arrived, they found an SUV 8-10 feet below grade in a drainage culvert with approximately 6 inches of runoff water flowing through. The single occupant of the vehicle was able to get out but fell in the snow and water and couldn’t get up. That person was immediately assisted by Sheriff Deputies and Fire Medics and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
