Troy Jackson Training Center Dedication
April 17, 2023 -The TJTC, formerly The Metro Fire Training Center, was renamed to honor Chief Jackson, who tragically passed away in 2019 due to job-related cancer. Chief Troy Jackson forever changed the fire service culture through his leadership and vision in helping to lead the way in the prevention of firefighter cancers, improvement in firefighter safety, and devotion to life-long learning. He began his career on the same drill ground that 30 years later carries his name as a tribute to his strong legacy as a mentor, friend, father, and husband. The hope is that all that walk and train here are inspired by his message -to serve the community and care for one another.
