Ashleigh Lane Residential Structure Fire
At 6:06 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, Local members responded to a reported house fire on Ashleigh Lane in Highlands Ranch. Members from first arriving Engine 17 initially reported nothing showing and after further investigation they confirmed working fire conditions. Members advanced a hose line into the smoke-filled home and extinguished flames on the first floor and in the basement. While working to establish a water supply, crews discovered the first fire hydrant was frozen and inoperable. A new water supply was established from a different hydrant on a different street a short time later. Crews searched all areas of the home and confirmed that all residents had safely evacuated. Unfortunately, during the operations one member slipped and fell on ice. That member was immediately assisted by their crew and Fire Medics, then transported to a local hospital for further treatment of minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
