South Lamar Court Dog Rescue
Around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, Local members and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Animal Control responded to a pooch stuck under a porch near S. Kendall Blvd. and S. Platte Canyon Rd. Zoe, the 7-year-old Labrador Retriever, was having a ruff morning after she became trapped under an old cement patio located beneath a wooden deck. Members from the Technical Rescue Team responded, and crews dismantled a portion of the deck while using hand tools to access the confined space. Remote cameras helped guide the operation and eventually a large enough path was created for frightened Zoe to escape. Members bribed her with some dog treats and pepperoni and after a few minutes she came out on her own! Thankfully Zoe wasn’t injured, and everyone was grateful for this pawsitive outcome! After the rescue operation, members closed off the old patio so an accident won’t happen again, then they repaired the deck before leaving.
