W. Ponds Circle Multi Family Structure Fire
At 12:51 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, South Metro Engine 19 was dispatched to an electrical problem at 4669 W. Ponds Cir. in Arapahoe County. A resident there reported a crackling sound from a bathroom ceiling fan but no smoke or flames. Upon arrival, Local members from Engine 19 observed smoke showing from the eaves of the 2-story, 4-unit building, and additional resources were requested. Members advanced a hose line to the second floor and used hooks to open the ceiling while members on the roof cut a hole for vertical ventilation. The gable end of the building was also opened for ventilation and to check for fire extension. The fire was quickly controlled, all searches of the occupancies were clear and thankfully no injuries occurred. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire.
